21 Water Street: The Packing House
A history of trailblazers

The Packing House was originally built for the Swift Canadian Company, local meat packers, as its cold storage plant. This was also the site of the Sunnyside Hotel built in 1874, which was an important meeting place for early settlers. In fact, Vancouver's first mayor, Malcolm MacLean, gave his victory speech here. The building interior was completely renovated in the 1970s.
